Guides 'n Stuffs

Innovative and/or ahead of their time games
Commented chronological lists on innovative and/or ahead of their time games based on my own research and comments from various gaming forums.

Platform Adventure - A Quick Reference Guide to Metroidvania History
aka Castleroids aka Sidescrolling Action Adventures aka Arcade Adventures aka Open World Platformers. Each game entry lists defining features relating to the genre and links to more info in the form of playthroughs and reviews. I consider the 80s and early 90s pages to be about 85% done so far and am currently working on the mid-late 90s pages. I'm not sure how or even if to cover the 00s-10s, I might cut it off around the late 00s to keep it focused on the earlier history of the genre which is what I was interested in documenting in the first place. The site itself should explain the rest, if it doesn't then let me know.

Worlds Unraveled - A Quick Reference Guide to Action Adventure & ARPG History
Complementary to the Platform Adventure site, this one covers non-side view games with or without platforming in the same manner as the other site (70s-90s for now).
