Pretty much all music is from other MD games (could've been remixed with Sonic instruments and more to in its style at times)
No bonus levels unless you unlock the mission mode (time trial/collectathon with the same levels but no bosses?)

Too short (just two zones, 3 acts each; takes 20 mins if you're a good player)
Difficulty spikes at each boss (they don't feel balanced around how Sonic moves while not running and the homing attack isn't reliable enough)
Can't play as Tails or Knuckles

Lacks unique gimmicks besides the new bosses
