Level Design-7.5 Frustration-7.5 Fun-7.5 Originality-7
Overall Score-7.5
+ Some great puzzles, vivid world with charming characters, humourous, satisfying sound effects, fixes some annoyances of the Amiga version (the small speedy dots are killable), great animation and art direction, interesting mechanics (the living stick which can be used to interact in different ways with the environment), good variation, bonus stages (very hard), password save, creatures tend to not hurt you upon touching them unless they're trying to (see Shinobi series)
+/- Play as a hillbilly (zoo worker to be specific) who kind of looks like he put on some lipstick, can't manually control the stick itself (could've made for some interesting puzzles),
- Can't look up/down (leads to some leaps of faith), better music and more sound effects on Amiga (but you have to choose either, not both plus there are loading times in that version), a bit short (5 levels, most of them are pretty long though), some tedious platforming parts, quickly respawning enemies, sometimes inconsistent hit detection (some enemies only respond to a specific move, hard to hit the green bats in stage 3 and the marbles in stage 4), can't attack while crouching (your hit box is wide enough when standing up though), main character keeps jumping if holding down the button (can throw off your timing), missing some of the amiga cutscenes, somewhat basic sound design (no DAC or PSG, yet the FM is still impressive in parts), can't adjust your jump height, trial & error (third level - the bats, shots from off screen in stage 4), a few tedious parts where you need NPCs to follow you in tight spaces, lack of hints on how to beat the tree in stage 1
