Bio-Hazard Battle/Crying (MD, 1992)
Graphics-7.5 Sound-8 Control-7/8 (depends on the aircraft)
Challenge-8.5/9* Level Design-7 Frustration-8.5 Fun-7.5/7*
Originality-5 Overall Score-7.5
*1-player
+ 2-player, interesting atmosphere, 4 different aircraft (different speeds and weapons), difficulty options, good animation overall, block small shots with your gun drone (the yellow weapon also destroys small shots making it a bit overpowered), hidden 1-ups
+/- Borrows from R-Type and Gradius, most weapon power ups stay on screen (can be annoying if you don't want a certain weapon)
- Somewhat repetitive, mostly slow paced, unbalanced weaponry and aircraft (some are faster), simple power up system without speed options or bombs, some annoying music tracks, slowdown in 2-player coop mode, some safe spots (wave of blobs segment in the 7th level - use the straight yellow beam), some trial & error (fast moving enemies, surprise attacks, boss patterns)
Notes:
