Graphics-7.5 Sound-8 Control-7 Challenge-7 Story-5?
Level Design-6.5 Frustration-6.5 Fun-6.5 Originality-5.5
Overall Score-6.5
+
Smooth scaling and goot sense of speed
Can jump (although you need power ups to keep doing it)
Speed booster (unlimited uses)
Large and detailed bosses
A few branching paths within some levels
Difficulty options (easy-very hard)
+/-
Fairly strict time limits+killathon (have to take out every regular enemy for a time extension) - have to boost nearly constantly. Can't die, only run out of time
Short levels with checkpoints before the bosses
-
Overly small hit boxes on the jump power ups
Jumping is underused in the level design but helps with doing more damage vs bosses
No weapons
Side tackling doesn't help you maintain speed when tackling enemies
Overly simple first two bosses, Harder 3rd level than 4th and 5th
No bike upgrades in-between levels (SHO, Turbo Outrun)
No branching paths between levels
Repetitive and the last level is a boss gauntlet (with weaker bosses)
Has a bit of a difficulty spike at the final boss (somtimes you get in the groove and can hit him consistently with jumps but it seems almost luck-based, sometimes you just get hit over and over by his attacks)
Kind of ugly player avatar
