Impressive YMF278B/OPL4 Music (ARC, MSX2+, PC)

The sound card versions were released in 1995 and so was the first arcade game to use the chip (Strikers 1945​). The PC cards' General MIDI compatibility only refers to the external sample ROM, which is pretty much identical to what was used on the TG-100 MIDI tone generator. That sample rom was also hardwired in the PC sound cards, with very few actually supporting external memory.
