Overall Score*-7 (episode 1)
*Divided into seasons
Season 1:
+
Subtitles
Good dialogue overall
Interesting moral choices
Solid dramaturgy
Good art direction
Good voice acting
Memorable characters
+/-
Timed dialogue system (feels a bit more natural, but you barely have time to read and process your reply choices)
Auto-save (hard to tell when it saves)
Game makes notes of how characters take your replies but there's not log to access at wish
Very linear gameplay
Quick time events (press Q quickly)
-
Plenty of minor interface issues (no skipping dialogue/read dialogue, credits, cutscenes etc., annoying camera angles, plenty of invisible walls)
Some overly violent scenes
Some cheesy/pubescent dialogue (such as the characters' attitude towards the zombies, their lack of fear or panic)
Some minor plot oddities (Lee keeps falling over at the worst times, Clementine auto-follows you into some spots, etc.)
You don't get to know some of the characters enough for the choice of who to save to matter on a personal level
Achievement unlocked after important scenes takes the edge off them/feels tacky (such as when choosing to give the gun to Irene, the bitten girl)
The "next on the walking dead" cutscene spoils a few things for the next episode
Other:
-Input delay on Intel graphics card (it's decent on the lowest resolution)
