Space Harrier II (MD, 1988)
Graphics-7.5 Sound-7 Control-6.5 Challenge-7.5
Level Design-6 Frustration-8 Fun-7 Originality-7
Overall Score-6.5
+ Great art direction, large sprites, good sense of speed, difficulty options, decent voice samples, choose between four starting levels, a couple of good bosses (the panter)
+/- Auto-fire (only 5-6 shots can be on screen at once so you need to manage it), fairly easy to gain new lives
- Choppy scaling makes it hard to tell how close an object is or which way it's moving, shallow (no weapon or speed system, no fuel system, one way scrolling, no pits), repetitive, rehashed bosses and enemies, somewhat uneven difficulty (some later bosses are very easy)
