Dragon Spirit PCE
Graphics-7 Sound-7.5 Control-6.5 Challenge-8 Story-5
Level Design-7 Frustration-9 Fun-6.5 Originality-5
Overall Score-6.5
+ Forgiving checkpoints, three HP, decent variation, air and ground enemies, decent amount of upgrades to main weapon, pretty arcade accurate visuals, some good bosses
+/- No HP power ups?, easier than the arcade version
- Lower res but same size sprites and no sideway scrolling (= more trial & error and less interesting gameplay), number of heads independent to amount of health, no earthquakes, less forgiving hit detection, being three headed makes you a huge target (you can have 1 hp and be fully powered up), different weapons are few and far between, trial & error (some bosses), some bosses go down way too fast (stage 2, stage 5), slower paced than NES version, can't adjust speed (you move slower when flying downwards), can't blast both air and ground missiles at the same time (bombs don't appear correctly), lacks the cutscenes from other versions, annoying death sound
