Cyborg Hunter/Borgman (SMS, 1988)
Graphics-7.5 Sound-8.5 Control-7 Challenge-6.5 Story-5
Level Design-6 Frustration-6.5 Fun-6.5 Originality-6
Overall-7
+
Some interesting equipment (rocket pack - flight, see in the dark shots - temporary effect)
Enemy radar creates a creepy atmosphere (Alien films)
Good bosses overall
Hub world (you rarely get a chance to choose your own path though)
Smart bombs
+/-
Can farm for items in some spots where items are placed (could've been enemy drops)
-
Can't exit a level before finishing the objective
Psycho punch is seriously overpowered
Use bomb move is mapped to the up button (same as enter door move)
Mostly bland and flat levels
Short
Not much of a connection to the anime
The jet pack physics are kinda lame (flight feels like in a shoot em up game) and there's no time limit on it making it overpowered
Annoying sfx when closing in on an enemy
Somewhat uneven difficulty
