Bonk’s Adventure (GB)
Graphics-7 Sound-7.5 Control-7 Challenge-5.5
Level Design-6 Frustration-7 Fun-7 Originality-5
Overall Score-7
+ New level designs and bosses, uses the control improvements from Revenge, looks more like Revenge than Adventure, some interesting mechanics (see Bonk's Adventure PCE), respawn on the spot, decent length (~1 hour), mini-games (hidden, gain 1-ups), expressive characters,
+/- Would've been less frustrating overall if you could headbutt to the front when in mid-air, standard jumps to hit enemies above you takes some getting used to, life refill between stages depends on your ability to collect smiley faces, slight delay when jumping
- Simpler and more straightforward levels, simple bosses, dull final boss, fewer hidden items in walls, trial & error (weird mechanics, some boss patterns), vertical based jumping, poor jump height control, slow acceleration from standing position, no manual running, somewhat repetitive, no difficulty options, somewhat uneven difficulty
